Happy Cybersecurity Awareness Month!!!
, Do you know that there are 2,200 cyber-attacks per day, with an attack happening every 39 seconds on average?
One of the ways cyber scammers attack is by sending deceptive messages through text messages and emails. As we celebrate the cybersecurity awareness month this month, we must stay alert and aware of these threats so as not to fall victim.

Here are some of the ways to identify when you are being phished
Bad Grammar: Check for spelling and grammatical errors in the email and message being sent to you.
Sense of Threats/Urgency: Many attackers use tactics such as threats to manipulate you into taking immediate action like clicking a link or opening a file
Suspicious Links/Attachments: Phish messages usually contain malicious links or files. Avoid opening suspicious attachments or links, especially from an unknown source.
Request for Money/Sensitive Info: Watch out for emails or messages that ask you to send money, or any confidential messages. Verify the authenticity of the message before you take any action.
Inconsistent Email Addresses and Domain: Legitimate organizations always have their email domains and would not use public domains like “@gmail.com”. Also, examine the sender’s email addresses for any inconsistencies or errors.
Generic Greetings/Email Signature: Phish emails usually contain generic greetings instead of personalized messages.
