Women make up 52% of Nigeria’s working-age population yet continue to be underrepresented in formal employment. In 2023, only 78.2% of women participated in the labour force compared to 80.9% of men.
With limited access to formal jobs, many Nigerian women turn to entrepreneurship, but they continue to face major challenges in accessing funding and sustaining their businesses.
This year’s International Women’s Day, we teamed up with UK-Nigeria Tech Hub to launch a dedicated working group focused on tackling these structural barriers.
Our goal? To drive practical, gender-inclusive investment solutions that empower more women to thrive in business.
