Inside SpurtX! This July

We are back with some exciting updates from our team at SpurtX! We’ve rolled out powerful new features on Spot!; all designed to make hiring smarter and smoother for your team.

We are also spotlighting how our Product team is building with purpose and sharing news from our latest initiative supporting women-led startups in Nigeria.

Let’s get into it👇🏾

TL;DR

Your hiring process doesn’t end with just reviewing candidates’ resumes.

With the Spot! Interview Scheduling feature, we’ve made it easy for recruiters and hiring managers to:

  • Send custom scheduling links directly to applicants

  • Let candidates book their interviews at their convenience

  • Use and customise our pre-built email template to update applicants about their interview.

Share your availability and let applicants choose a convenient time that fits into your schedule with any back-and-forth emails

When recruiting, you want to be able to assess applicants and verify that they have the necessary skills required. This is why we’ve introduced the new Timed Test feature on Spot! You can now create and assign assessments to applicants and evaluate their skills directly within the platform.

Here’s how it works:
When creating a job listing, simply toggle the “Enable Test” button, then:

  • Add your questions

  • Choose the answer format (multiple choice, written, etc.)

  • Set the test duration (default is 30 minutes, but you can personalise it)

  • Select the correct answers so Spot! can automatically grade them

Just like that — you’re ready to save and publish. Candidates take the test during their application process and are automatically scored based on their results.

At Spurt!, our Product Team plays a huge role in shaping not just how our tools work — but how they feel. From functionality to flow, they’re the reason our platforms stay intuitive and seamless.

In a new article, our Product Manager, Toyin, shares an inside look at how the team fosters commitment and collaboration across departments to bring our vision to life.

Curious how we build with intention?

Spurt! has officially launched the Business Growth Initiative for Startups (BGIS), a four-month technical assistance programme supporting 15 dynamic, women-led ventures in Nigeria. In partnership with Ubulu Africa Development Foundation and funded by the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, BGIS provides tailored training, advisory, visibility, and access to strategic networks.

Focused on growth-stage founders often left out of traditional accelerators, the programme spans sectors like fintech, health tech, SaaS, food, and cultural AI, spotlighting the power of women-led innovation to drive inclusive economic growth.
